Put Me In Coach! I'm Ready to Play!

An Iowa town alongside the Mississippi River is where I started my colligate media production, public relations, and broadcasting career. Loras College, located in Dubuque Iowa, has given me an understanding of the amount of time, planning, and commitment that goes into executing a media production. Details ranging from placing spun on a key light and securing it with a c-47, to putting a wireless microphone on someone to get the perfect SOT, can really make the difference. I feel that my experience to date has put me in a position to expand my knowledge and be a part of a professional production team.
Throughout my time at Loras College I was provided many experiences preparing me for a post graduate career. I received live on-air training while serving as an Anchor and Reporter for Loras College Television (LCTV) News/Sports programming. In addition, I became very familiar with behind the scene know-hows working as a Producer, Videographer, Writer, and Editor for several different types of productions. These productions include News/Sports coverage, commercials, a documentary, and experimental videos. I creatively and technically execute projects utilizing my familiarity, and extensive training, in the Adobe Suite.
Fortunately, I was able to complete two challenging internships in the production/media field in preparation for a full-time position. During my time in Dubuque I served as the Media Relations Intern at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, (an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution), and a Production Assistant Intern at Mediacom Creative Services, OnMedia. I've also been lucky enough to gain professional experience working as a freelance Associate Producer and Post-Production Editor at Chicago's MK Films, and Michael O'Rourke Productions, Inc. In the Winter season of 2015-2016 I was living in Breckenridge, Colorado spending my season working as a Videographer, Producer, and Editor for Epic Creative Media based out of Denver, Colorado. Currently I am working as a Sr. Social Media Strategist at an Advertising Agency in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Most importantly, I truly love and enjoy what I do. I continuously strive to learn and professionally grow, and I hope to contribute my enthusiasm and creativity to future employers and clientele.
Thank you,
Allisan R. Ellwood
